ISI's Dangerous Plot Exposed: Terror Operatives Tasked With Entering Indian Politics (OpenAi)

New Delhi: Amidst efforts to give a new face to terrorism in India, security agencies have received shocking information. According to central security officials, Pakistan's intelligence agency (ISI) has instructed its overground worker (OGW) network and terror supporters to infiltrate mainstream political activities. Investigative agencies claim that its objective may be to avoid action by security forces and to provide political protection to the terror network.

What came to light in the inquiry?

According to the report, during interrogation of some suspected terror supporters arrested by Srinagar Police, it was revealed that some of them were associated with national political parties. Officials say that efforts are being made to include such elements in the political structure and give them a legitimate identity so that they can stay away from the eyes of the investigating agencies.

Why is the strategy of terror being changed?

According to security agencies, the traditional network of ISI has weakened due to continuous pressure and anti-terrorist operations. For this reason, efforts are reportedly being made to reactivate old terrorist organizations and local networks. Agencies believe that this could be an attempt to localize terrorism and hide its cross-border role.

Which organizations are you keeping an eye on?

According to officials, the activities of old terrorist organizations like Al-Omar Mujahideen, Al Badr and Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen are being monitored again. The investigating agencies fear that there may be an attempt to reactivate the network of these organizations. Several security reports have earlier mentioned the existence of terrorist infrastructure and their support networks across the border.

What are the concerns of security agencies?

Officials say that if terror supporters are successful in making a place in the political or social structure, it may be easier for them to create funding, recruitment and logistics networks. This is why central agencies are keeping a close watch on such suspicious networks and their contacts are being investigated.

Have such allegations surfaced before?

Various investigative agencies and security reports in India have previously accused ISI of supporting terror networks, radical organizations and separatist activities in India. In recent months, action has been taken against several terror modules and suspected networks, with Pakistan connections being investigated.
